ADI Congratulates Sponsors of FedRAMP Authorization Act on Full Passage in the House of Representatives

Matthew Cornelius, Executive Director of the Alliance for Digital Innovation

The Alliance for Digital Innovation (ADI) congratulates Representatives Gerry Connolly, Mark Meadows, and Brian Fitzpatrick for their leadership and perseverance in ensuring the passage of the H.R. 3941, “FedRAMP Authorization Act,” today by the full House of Representatives.

ADI has worked closely with these Members, the staff of the full Committee on Oversight and Reform (COR), and the staff on the COR Subcommittee on Information Technology to ensure that the bill prioritizes automation and innovation in the cloud authorization process, sufficiently resources the FedRAMP Program Management Office and Joint Authorization Board, and strongly encourages greater reciprocity of cloud services within and across Federal agencies. In addition to codifying these important reforms, ADI also applauds the creation of the Federal Secure Cloud Advisory Committee, which will establish a transparent, accountable body of experts from government and industry that will provide recommendations to the Administrator of the General Services Administration (GSA) and Federal agencies on how to improve FedRAMP and agency cloud authorizations.

ADI encourages swift passage of H.R. 3941 by the United States Senate and will continue to work closely with GSA, Federal agencies, and cloud service providers to institute these necessary, thoughtful reforms.
