Alliance for Digital Innovation to Testify on How the Coronavirus Exposed Outdated Federal IT Systems

Matthew Cornelius, Executive Director of the Alliance for Digital Innovation, will be testifying before the House Subcommittee on Government Operations (Committee on Oversight and Reform) on Monday, July 20, 2020. This hybrid/in-person hearing will focus on Federal IT modernization and how the Coronavirus exposed outdated systems. Cornelius will detail how:
  • The government’s “legacy” problem goes far beyond certain systems that are decades old. It is a cultural problem, both inside government and out.
  • Accelerating IT modernization is only possible if agencies can easily and effectively acquire and use commercial capabilities to achieve mission outcomes.
  • Successful IT modernization requires many years of sustained investment and the ability of agency leaders to make adjustments and address challenges that occur along the way.
Cornelius will also outline several steps Congress can take to accelerate legacy IT modernization. Click here to view the Committee hearing.
